Today,I would like to post an interesting cover from Russia.
The stamp on the envelope above is one commemorating "UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in Russia", depicting Ferapontov monastery which is located in the north-west European-Russia and a detail of the Fresco painting in this monastery.
I find this stamp very interesting. I think its unique half-round shape is well worked for representing a fresco painting on the dome.
I wold also like to mention a person on this stamp. Judging from his belongings(i.e. stole over his neck), he might be St.Nicholas, a model for the Santa Claus!
